PHILIPSBURG – People on Sint Maarten are worried when it comes to hurricane Isaac which is barreling down on the island. Because of this, Sint Maarten will most likely experience extreme weather on Thursday the 13th or Friday the 14th of September. Last Thursday, September 6th, was the one year anniversary of the devastation brought forth by hurricane Irma.

Heavy gusts, intense rain, and high waves are expected. The hurricane is expected to be a category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of between 120 and 150 kilometers per hour, and gusts between 140 and 180 kilometers per hour.
