THE BOTTOM – Saba having received the green light for commercial helicopter landings saw a helicopter from the French St. Martin based company Corail Helicopters make its first trip to Saba on Sunday.

Company owners met with airport representatives on Sunday as part of the beginning stages of setting up this venture. Pricing for charters, fairs and so on are still being discussed according to company owners.

In efforts to boost the declining tourism market on Saba, this will open opportunities for more visitors from the neighboring St. Martin/St. Maarten and St. Barth’s.

Windward Island Airways (Winair), the only airline which flies to Saba, recently started offering direct flights from St. Barth’s to Saba and there are regular ferry trips from St. Barth’s to Saba as well.
