No damages from Magnitude 5.2 Earthquake on Saba

THE BOTTOM – After the most devastating hurricane season, Saba along with Leewards Islands experienced a 5.2 Magnitude earthquake leaving this island with no damages. Sabans who are busy getting ready for Christmas and some at different church services felt this shake at 11:12 A.M.

The underwater earthquake was 27 kilometers from St. Maarten. According to the United States Geological Survey, this earthquake’s epicenter is 18.097°N 62.797°W with the minimum distance of 29.8 km (0.27°).

After shocks are possible and it is advised to be alert. Nevertheless, there are no reports of damages or tsunami threats across the region, according to local reports.
